Artist. Husband. Father. Teacher. My mother was a concert pianist and father a Navy Seal. I pursued jazz sax through childhood, then, as a young man, Architecture & Fine Arts. This formal education led to early career adventures in feature film production.

I am curious, passionate, loyal, dedicated, persistent and open. I use art and movement to share the fullness of life. I am happy with simple living. I employ dry sarcasm, irony and obscure literary references to express anger and dissatisfaction with injustice, ignorance and indifference.

Since age 10 I have maintained an intensive mind-body training regimen. Don't ask my why, I've always loved it.

I am a lineage holder and student level 6 certified level 2 instructor directly under GM Sam F.S. Chin in his Hakka Family art of Zhong Xin Dao (I Liq Chuan).

I studied Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan, Xingyi, and Cheng style bagua from 1994 to 2010 with Mr. Michael Phillips.
I am a full senior instructor in his Neijia system. In, 2005, upon retirement from active teaching, Michael introduced me to Master Chin. Before Mr. Phillips, I studied traditional Okinawan Shuri-te with Shihan Jiro Shiroma. My first contact with authentic martial arts training was at age 15, when I began martial arts studies with Hanshi Bruce Juchnik in Sei Kosho Shorei Kai.

I am fortunate having met such great instructors.
